ABOUT HAND MADE BY RACHEL

Hand Made by Rachel was set up by me Rachel in 2004 after being asked by one of my close friends to help with the design and creation of her wedding stationery. Being known with my friends for my creative side, I enjoyed the opportunity and challenge of designing some unique invitations for such a special occasion.

The idea of making wedding stationery got me thinking…… I had always been interested in arts and crafts as a child and my parents often said that ‘I was born with a pair of scissors in my hand’ as I loved spending time creating scrap books, cards and collages. I also had an ambition to work for myself one day and this idea gave me the perfect opportunity to turn my creative skills into a vocation.

At the time I was working for Kodak as a part-qualified Management Accountant and later that year they announced that they were to close the entire manufacturing site where I worked, at Annesley, Nottingham and that the operation would be re-located to Mexico…… a little far for me to commute each day!! This gave me the perfect opportunity to concentrate my time and skills into setting up my new business venture ‘Hand Made by Rachel’, designing and creating hand made stationery.

My aim is to work very closely with my clients in providing an excellent service and creating the perfect stationery for your special occasion. I take pride in my work and have a flexible approach in being able to tailor my designs to meet your individual requirements.

Since setting up my business I have also had the chance to create my own wedding stationery for my wedding to Lee in July 2008 and of course this meant that I created a new and unique design.
